Food Access

Here at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market we do more than just provide an outlet for small businesses and build community, we also help low-income families with access to fresh locally grown produce through our different programs.

During the 2020 season we gave out $14,296 in fresh fruits and vegetables!!!

Feel free to check out the programs we have and if you have questions please feel free to reach out to our Market Manager Tia Entrikin with any questions you may have at

SNAP Market Match

Here at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market we are proud to partner with Washington DOH to provide the SNAP Market Match program.

SNAP Market Match is a program where those receiving food assistance who come to the market can receive up to $40 in fresh fruits and vegetables every shopping trip. Simply swipe your EBT card at the Information Booth for a certain amount to spend in EBT and we will match up to $40 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables. The vouchers for SNAP Market Match work at any participating farmers market in the state and are good all season.

Skagit PICKS

Skagit PICKS is a program in conjunction with Skagit Pediatrics in Mount Vernon.

We are proudly sponsored by the Skagit Community Foundation and Food From Farms.

This program provides children with a fruit and vegetable prescription. When a child comes in for a well child check with their doctor during the months the market is open they are provided educational materials, as well as a prescription for $40 in fruits and vegetables that they can bring to the market. This amazing program teaches healthy eating habits while also showing children that there is an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies right in their community. Last year we gave out over $7,500 in fresh fruits and vegetables with this program alone. We are also looking for support to continue this program so if you feel inclined to donate please click the donate button on our home page and help provide children with the great abundance Skagit has to offer.
