Jerry is originally from Spokane and enjoyed many years in the hotel and restaurant business before accepting a faculty position at College of the Ozarks near Branson, Missouri where he led the Hotel and Restaurant Management program until his “retirement” as Professor Emeritus in 2014.

Now “back home” in the Pacific Northwest, he joined the Market volunteer team and spent 2 years in the information booth on Saturdays. He joined the board of directors in 2017 serving two terms as Treasurer and was named Board President in 2019.

Jerry has a day job on the staff at the Friendship House in Mount Vernon. He serves as Development & Program Manager plus he coordinates the Hunger to Hope foodservice apprenticeship program, mentors’ kitchen apprentices and serves as cheer-leader-in-chief for their personal and professional development.

He has a passion for all things food and enjoys seeking out interesting places to eat and checking out the vibrant local food and beverage culture in Skagit County. He and his wife Kaye enjoy venturing the backroads in the Northwest…especially when there is a nice picnic basket involved.
