October 2017 Events

As we’re sure you all know: October 14th is the last market of the summer season. We know! We’ll miss it, too. This summer was the best, wasn’t it? Plenty of sunshine, and lots of fresh produce to buy! Those pancakes! The music! The cooking demos! Officer McClaughery! The 30th Anniversary party! We could go on and on…but we have something coming up that will help with the end of summer blues….

First though, let’s talk about what we have going on in October.

October 7th:

Our musician will be Eddy Blau. Should be an exciting time, with this first timer at our market.

Our theme: National Farmers. Did you know that October 12th is National Farmers Day? We love our farmers! Where would we be without them?

Our cooking demo will be hosted by the Farmers Market Flash team. This team always has some interesting things up their sleeves!

Come by our Community Booth and chat with the Sea Mar Community Health Centers. It was founded in 1978, and is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State.

Also, the Community Booth will host the Master Gardeners. They’re the folks who can answer your question about your garden. So bring those questions with you.

October 14th:

Musicians, The Still, will be the band for this weekend. Stop by for a little toe-tapping!

Our theme for the week is Halloween! Spooky!

The Community Booth features the Skagit River Village. Stop by and see that they have to offer!

Dawn Chaplin will show us how to use those pumpkins for something other than jack-o-lantern’s. Can’t wait!

Nov  18th Harvest Market!! Carnation Building, downtown Mount Vernon 10-2 More on that later.
